A DRAMATIC TWIST ON THE TRADITIONAL CATWALK SHOW.

Are traditional catwalk shows a thing of the past? Well, according to Opening Ceremony, who will replace their runway show with a one act play at this year, they just might be.

Spike Jonze, Oscar winning director and screenwriter of films including Her, Being John Malkovich and Where The Wild Things Are, will direct the play. In the running to write it, however, is Hollywood actor Jonah Hill.

This wont be the first time Opening Ceremony has collaborated with Jonze as the label created clothing capsules for both Her in 2013 and Where The Wild Things Are in 2009.

Commenting on Jonze’s third collaboration with the label Opening Ceremony founder Humberto Leon said: “We were really excited about him writing an original script and seeing how this would take shape”.

At the moment the play is still in its early stages of development with the plot, title and cast still being finalised. However, with Hill and Jonze both on board the project promises to be interesting to say the least. The play will be showcased in September later this year.
