Designer Angelo Van Mol caught our eye with his debut collection at London Collections: Men SS15. In spite of being only a few years active, the young designer has a lot of work to show. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2010, and being awarded menswear designer of the year just a few months later, Angelo Van Mol moved to London to study tailoring in the traditional Savile Row.

The collection entitled 12 O’Clock Boys is full of timeless pieces of craftsmanship footwear with a modern twist, clearly showing the Belgium designer’s roots in haute-couture.

The inspiration comes from the streets of Baltimore and its dirt bike subculture: this translates into pieces made from brightly coloured snakeskin leather with hand painted ink spots. The colour palette includes rose gold metallic, canary yellow, petrol blue and earth shades that mirror the bikes and tracks.

The Sahara shoes in particular are the perfect example of how Angelo Van Mol breaks convention with his designs; they combine the innovative and casual tyre tread-like soles with sophisticated suede and snakeskin fabric in bright shades like orange and purple.

With a price from £325.00 RRP, Angelo Van Mol’s offerings are a good investment for the modern man who knows how to appreciate well-made, long-lasting footwear.
