For AW14 Apu Jan once again turns to nature for inspiration, in response to an increasingly tech-agressive and anxiety-riddled world. Collaborating with, top print designer, Central Saint Martins and Royal College of Art graduate Ying Wu he creates an enchanting collection featuring abstract monochrome prints, reminiscent of crashing waves. The Taiwanese designer further conveys the idea of turbulence and motion with his use of freely flowing fabrics, in the form of wide-legged trousers and billowing maxi skirts. Despite this, the silhouette remains slim and elegant.

The designer’s heritage is referenced in the form of knitwear, using a traditional Taiwanese knitting technique that spans generations. This takes the form of crop-tops, cropped jumpers and hats. My favourite off-schedule collection so far.
