For AW14, the Ashish girl goes to prom, fully equipped with tiara, ruffled chiffon and a huge pink bow. Sparkly embellishments feature heavily with sequins, intricate beading or foil fringing in every look. The rebel college kid aesthetic is nevertheless present in the form of varsity jackets, shredded denim, light-up platform trainers and sweatpants, bringing a tom-boy edge to this hyper-feminine collection.

There’s a strong feeling that the Ashish girl is fighting with her sense of identity, exploring her femininity in both an individual and stereotypical sense. It’s a concept that will strike a chord with women of all ages and, as ever, Ashish’s collection will undoubtedly influence high street trends to come. I look forward to Ashish every season and am certainly not disappointed with this attitude filled, teenage melodrama explosion. Boom.
