DECADE. ALEXI LUBOMIRSKI.

Fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski has produced a photo-book chronicling his fashion and portrait work from 2003-2013. The book itself feels as luxurious as the images within; weighty and grand. Even the cover of Decade shows a woman wearing oversized gold jewellery and a glamorous black swimsuit. Inside, fashion and film icons fill the pages with their striking presence; Victoria Beckham, Heidi Klum and Scarlett Johanson feature, to mention but a few.

Lubomirski’s representations of women are noticeably strong, confident, defiant, sexual, and powerful. They’re seductresses, fighters, grand dames and hollywood stars and always draped in stunning clothes and jewellery. He celebrates the female form in a way that is almost reverential, and always with elegance. He brings fashion to life, making it a seamless part of his subject’s personality and context.

Lubomirski was born and studied in the UK, despite having a Peruvian mother and Polish father. Working as an assistant to Mario Testino for 4 years (whilst living between Paris and London) it is easy to imagine how he might have developed his taste for photographing all things fashion and fame. Lubomirski has since photographed for Harpers’ Bazaar, GQ, Vogue and Wonderland.

Decade is a book that would find a comfortable home on the coffee table of any true fashionista. It oozes class and is sure to impress even the artiest of guests.
