Chic, elegant, stylish, sexy and sophisticated, these are just some of the words one might use when describing Italian women and Italian style and fashion.  Fashion designer Cleonice Capece is the epitome of them all and more.

Last Wednesday on what happened to be the warmest day of the year so far, a small crowd gathered in the rather intimate settings of the Notting Hill Book Shop for talk with designer about her book ‘Fashion by Chance’ . Ice cold prosecco was served up as guests took their seats to hear the oh so very charismatic Cleonice talk about her life as a designer in the swinging sixties and beyond. Hearing her talk about her time in both London and Rome was both inspiring and enchanting all at once.

The book itself is filled with the most stunning images; it depicts a wonderful tale of her adventure in the fashion industry during Italian fashion’s heyday from 1960- 1974. The book is everything you would expect from an Italian designer, it’s chic, it’s stylish, it’s quite simply the perfect read.
