It’s been an exciting couple of years for Finlay and Co. Since launching their range of wooden sunglasses in 2012 they’ve won a Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award, were presented with Accessory Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards, and this year attended Milan Fashion Week as part of the Vogue Talent Corner.
After noticing a distinct lack of Britishness in the eyewear market, Finlay and Co. have created a range of sunglasses that not only capture a resolute sense of heritage, but effortlessly ooze contemporary cool at the same time.
Currently the range sits with five unisex styles (Carnaby, Beaumont,Thurloe, Bosworth and Ledbury) with variances on classic designs sitting next to fresh and forward thinking ideas. Each pair is handcrafted which, not only ensures the quality of the glasses, but also their individuality; variances in the grain assures no pair will ever be identical. A nice touch is offered with a bespoke service, which engraves your initials into the wood.
With a collaboration with menswear brand E. Tautz under their belt, and fans such as David Gandy and Anna Wintour, it’s evident we’ll be seeing a lot more of Finlay and Co. in the coming seasons.
