Leopard. Crocodile. Raven. Octopus. Four animals, two designers and the outcome? The eight beautiful silk scarfs that make up Harper & Blake’s AW16 collection.
The Blake collection is designed with the theme of having a central focus; the eye is immediately drawn to the domineering middle of the scarf. The Raven print showcases a nautical theme of navy, stark white and blood red, all drawing towards the colour block eyes of the skull. Intricately designed around the skull is a snake, appearing to be tearing apart the raven’s feathers as they flee outwards, towards the crisp, red outline – making this piece a must-have statement in AW16 wardrobes. For the slightly faint-hearted, Blake’s Octopus design is perfect, as the use of baby blue, pastel yellow and white in transparent tones, create a soft finishing touch against the black, silk backdrop. The clean outline creates Blake’s centre focus motif once again, and is concluded seamlessly with subtle sky blue edging.
Simultaneously, Harper’s collection platforms a design that covers the whole scarf; the Crocodile print mixes a striking olive green with red to create Harper & Blake’s famous brushstroke pattern. The Harper collection takes a more minimalistic approach in design, displayed in the Octopus scarf. 136cm squared of 100% black silk, is delicately peppered with white dots that, as a whole, make up an octopus’ body. Subtle and understated, the Harper collection is full of must-haves for the coming season.
Harper & Blake’s AW16 collection exhibits designs for an extensive range of tastes to those searching for the perfect elegant accessory.
