As well as being the central hub of London Collections Men, The Hospital Club is a great place to discover new brands and catch up with favourites from previous seasons. Designer brands are divided into one of the following categories; Emerging & Streetwear, Contemporary & Outerwear or Luxe Basics & Tailoring with the collection rails often manned by the designers themselves. It’s a great opportunity to find out about collection concepts and technical details, so Style LDN went along to do just that…
Last season we met founder of Stutterheim Raincoats, Alexander Stutterheim. For AW15, the brand returned to The Hospital Club with gorgeous new colours and finishes including pastel blue, purple, breton stripes, a mottled black finish and a high gloss finish. Already being huge fans of the classic Stockholm Coat, we couldn’t help but fall in love with this new collection.
In the basement (home of Emerging & Streetwear) we were delighted by sportsluxe brand Body Bound. Stand out pieces included a fluro, mesh, hooded jacket and a hooded sweatshirt with leather panels. The mens accessories here particularly caught our eye with a stunning plasticised blue metallic adorning statement totes and backpacks.
Upstairs, minimalist Swedish brand L’Homme Rouge took classic menswear to a new level of cool. The brand uses a fabric made from wood (Tencel) to create luxurious shirts that feel as if they were made with the finest silk. The collection as a whole gave a sense of easy wearability, premium quality and style.
There were certainly plenty of other designers that deserve our attention, too many to mention here. However, we are looking forward to bringing you some great brand features in the coming weeks, where we can take a closer look at AW15’s showroom offerings.
