Plain colours, draping cloaks, high necks and asymmetric cuts contribute to the minimalist and futuristic feel at J.W Anderson. There’s a hint of Japanese-ness about the collection, with its simple practicality and the inclusion of kimono style silhouettes.
The only prints on show depict comic book car illustrations and flames that bring to mind ‘Hot Wheels’ and anime. Structure is the main focus and is applied decoratively on skirts and dresses.
Furry bodices, leather and plastic-bag looking wide-leg trousers change up the textures and contrast against each other, but fundamentally it’s the sculptural quality of the garments that makes this collection interesting and ‘statement.’
