The John Lobb presentation began with a short animated film depicting the life of the modern London man. It featured iconic locations such as Primrose Hill and Portobello Market as well as the more generic art gallery and fish and chip shop. The art gallery aesthetic was carried through into the presentation of the collection, with the shoes spaciously laid out on transparent suspended shelves like precious works.
A colour palette of sumptuous berry toned suedes; strawberry, blueberry and ripe raspberry helped to mark the collection as ‘spring summer.’ Alongside these sat white, chocolate brown and tan leathers, as well as a luxurious teal suede. Buckles, tassels, lizard skin and punching acted as embellishment on otherwise clean and straight-talking styles: loafers, slippers and brogues captured the sense of casual sophistication that is the essence of the John Lobb SS15 collection.
