For her second show at London Fashion Collection Judy Wu demonstrates the power of women with a strong yet delicately feminine SS16 collection. With the comparison of woman and water, in their strength and yet softness. Judy Wu has created a flowing collection with beautiful printed swirls of colour.
The silhouettes of this collection seam as though the garments have been poured down onto the body, flowing gently with voluminous pleats hanging into skirts. Half-length sleeves add the strength to the garments by sitting squarely on the shoulders, with the delicacy being shown in lightweight silks and A-line shapes.
Blocks of coral, jade and turquois are elegantly displayed onto blacks and white, once again showing the power and the gentleness. For this collection Judy Wu has used planetariums and outer space to decide her colour palette.
Since AW15 where she displayed her roots within the collection, for SS16 Judy Wu has moved onto something more universal yet evocative.
