Kickers is one of those brands that evokes memories of our childhood. You either had a pair, or several of your school friends did. This year has seen the brand celebrate its 40th anniversary, and while celebrating such a milestone as a brand it is also honouring the 40 years of its most iconic style the Kick Hi boot.

Since it was first launched in the UK back in1975, the Kick Hi has been worn by many famous faces especially those in music, such as Sir Elton John, David Bowie, Noel Gallagher, Jarvis Cocker and the Stone Roses to name a few.

Last Thursday night in Shoreditch Sane Communications played host to the launch of ‘Forty’, a retrospective publication that traces the historical and aesthetic legacy of the Kick Hi boot put together by the Kickers team along with David Hellqvist and Document Studios. Now how’s that for a Thursday throw back?
