As expected, the Lulu Liu SS15 collection has a heavy print focus, this time drawing inspiration from old childhood toys. Shredding and a faded colour palette helps to create a sense of the pre-loved and second hand; a feeling that these garments have been carefully worn in by an adoring owner. Stripes and pleats also feature, as well as denim – all elements that hark back to a late 80’s / early 90’s childhood that I remember fondly myself.

Silhouettes are voluminous and asymmetrical; oversized shirts are fastened into a crop creating beautiful billowy folds. Shorts are high-waisted whilst skirt and dress hem lines finish on, or just above, the knee. Crossed fronts and ruffles add a sense of occasion to the evening pieces, with the use of hammered silk bringing sophistication to an otherwise playful collection.
