Since its launch back in 2003 On|Off has become one of the most prestigious platforms for showcasing young designers. They have nurtured the talents of Gareth Pugh, Roksanda Illinic, J.W Anderson, Peter Pilotto and Mother of Pearl to name a few. Now for SS16 there is a new crop of talent designers ready to make their stamp on the industry and Manuel Facchini is one of them.
One of Facchini’s inspirations came from the world of sports, in particular Rugby. Quite fitting really as his collection was presented on the first day of the Rugby World Cup. It was the players’ kits that inspired the form-fitting fabrics, with athletic silhouettes dominating the collections.
Minidresses featured, as did full skirts and structured shoulders, all emphasising the body. Jackets were leather bounded to technical mesh along with herringbone tweed all layered together. Cropped trousers were trimmed with details borrowed from sportswear. There was a strong colour palette of black and white with flashes of bold colours in the form of fluorescent yellow, bright orange and raspberry pink.
Stunning collection with some very covetable pieces, roll on next Summer.
