Designer Mark Fast’s latest collection combines slinky 1920’s style dresses with vibrant purples, oranges and baby blues. Ridden with sequins and jewels, the pieces are glamorous and sophisticated. They are classic and modern simultaneously. The combination of the floor-length evening gowns and knit materials creates a powerful contrast that works in a way only Mark Fast could achieve.
The use of feathers are alluring and elegant, a staple of Fast collections. Dresses trimmed with thick swathes hang around the calf and the shoulders. Meanwhile, the all black pieces are striking and mysterious, creating a beautiful diversity to the other brightly coloured pieces. The mix of black and pastels is daring and oh so successful as the shades rival each other strikingly.
Thigh-high slits own the catwalk as the fringing separates gloriously to reveal high-cut bodysuits and mini-skirts in various shades. Cold shoulder blouses still own the AW17 looks, refreshed with billowing sleeves, round necks and intricate arm cuffs.
Mark Fast’s AW17 collection is one to be placed on a pedestal and worshiped in wait of SS18.
