The setting for Patrick Cox’s SS16 presentation could not have been more enchanting and more elegant. In the intimate settings of the Glade Room in the Sketches London Hotel, behind long dark green curtains, one might have mistaken the presentation for a secret garden party; the walls were hand painted in gorgeous flowers and trees a perfect reflection of the collection.
This was the second time that Patrick Cox had worked with the leather goods and shoe makers Lathbridge. Second collaboration yes, but Patrick Cox is an old master of the London fashion circuit, having made his name back in the late 80’s and early 90’s with his iconic and very much sought after leather shoes.
For SS16 Patrick and Lathbridge offered both men’s and women’s shoes and leather goods that are quite literally blooming lovely. In a riot of colours and bold prints, the collection comprises of beautiful burnished buffalo hide brogues, loafers that payed homage to the iconic ‘Wannabe’ loafers of the 90’s, sneakers, hi tops and the most fabulous knee high peep toe boots adorned with floral print motif. Accessories took the form of oversized totes bags, wallets, clutches and shopper bags were also bursting with gorgeous floral prints.
