As London Collections Men dawns upon us, London once again becomes the focal point for menswear. With 80 designers on the schedule and over 100 presentations and shows, it is the biggest LC:M to date. Since joining LC:M in 2014, Sankuanz designer, Zhe Shangguan has received plenty of press attention (2015 LVMH Prize shortlist). With a SS16 collection inspired  by folk religion and the ethnic nomadic people of North China, Sankuanz gives us a new take on street wear with a tailored twist.

Deconstructing the traditional oriental silhouette with classically tailored menswear and splashes of bright colours, Sankuanz brings something new to the table. Pastel jungle prints and graphic tees were intertwined into the mostly neutral toned collection. Continuing with the folk theme, braided models sported nomadic drum-like bags with free flowing tassels that swayed with movement. Draped fabric layered over shorts and wide-leg trousers added to the oriental shape. Geometric tees and ‘Sankuanz’ branded shirts gave the largely classic tailored menswear collection a street wear edge, making it current and wearable.
