The show notes state surrealism and Dali’s films as the key influence for the SS14 Yifang Wan collection but I can’t help but get a more futuristic vibe. The looks in black, with black sunglasses in particular remind me of ‘The Matrix.’

Asymmetry and geometric shapes feature heavily (un-even sleeve lengths, one shouldered dresses, asymmetrical skirt hems and layering) and are the main focus of the collection. Looks are presented in mono-colour, either in white, charcoal, metallic grey, metallic green or black, allowing the cuts to take centre stage.

Although the looks are striking in their presented form, it is easy to see how the individual pieces would be equally impressive alone.
